🛍️ For Buyers
Scooda is a marketplace delivery platform that helps you get large items home from Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, and other local platforms. We connect you with local Scooder Drivers who pick up and deliver your purchase.
Start on our homepage: enter your ZIP code to confirm we're in your area, give your delivery address and tell us what you bought. We then give you a link to send your seller, and they add their own pickup address — you don't need to know it. Once they have, you'll see your price and can pay, and a Scooder Driver is assigned.
Pricing is upfront and calculated instantly based on distance, item size, access conditions (stairs, elevator), and delivery speed. A typical local delivery ranges from $75–$180. You'll see the exact total before you pay — no hidden fees.
Same-day delivery is available in our live markets for an additional $25, and there's a priority option for $40 that puts your job at the front of the queue. One thing worth knowing: if you started the request, nothing can move until your seller adds their pickup address using the link you send them. Enter your ZIP on the homepage to check your area.
Once a Scooder accepts your job you get a link to a status page showing each stage — assigned, collected, on the way, delivered — updated as your Scooder marks them. We'll text and email you when it's delivered. There's no map or live vehicle location.
Every delivery is covered by our photo proof system — pickup and dropoff photos are required. If there's a dispute, our admin team reviews the photos and can issue full or partial refunds. Contact support through the app.
Yes — Scooders deliver to your room of choice. If your delivery requires navigating stairs, just indicate that when booking and we'll account for it in your price.
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Your payment is held securely until delivery is confirmed — you're protected the entire time.
🏷️ For Sellers
Create a free Scooda account, click 'Create Delivery Link', enter your item details and pickup address, and generate a shareable link. Paste it in your marketplace listing — buyers can book delivery directly.
No. Scooder Drivers handle everything. You just need to be available at pickup time to hand off the item.
You choose! Either the buyer pays at checkout (most common), or you cover it as a selling incentive. Offering delivery often helps you close sales faster at your asking price.
You'll receive a notification when a driver is assigned, when they're en route, and when the item is picked up — complete with a pickup photo.
If a delivery is cancelled before the driver picks up, there's no charge. Cancellation policies are outlined in our Terms of Service.
Creating a delivery link is free. You're only charged if you choose to cover the delivery fee yourself. Otherwise, the buyer pays at checkout.
🚐 For Scooders
Click 'Become a Scooder', complete the application with your vehicle details, upload your license and insurance, connect your payout account, and submit for approval. We review applications within 24–48 hours. After approval there's one more step — verifying your identity through Stripe — before jobs can reach you.
A pickup truck, cargo van, large SUV, or box truck. Your vehicle needs to be able to transport furniture and large appliances. We match jobs to your vehicle type.
Payouts typically run $80–$140 per delivery, and you keep 100% of your tips — always. What you earn in a week depends on how much demand there is near you, which varies a lot by area and is still building in our newer markets. We won't pretend a weekly number is typical when it depends on where you are.
Payouts are released after you upload pickup and delivery photos and mark the job complete. Transfers arrive in your bank account within 1–2 business days via Stripe.
100% of tips go directly to you — every time, no exceptions. Scooda never takes a cut of your tips.
Yes. You see the full job details before accepting — item type, distance, payout, access conditions, and delivery window. You only take what works for you.
You need a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, a qualifying vehicle (pickup truck, cargo van, large SUV, or box truck), and the ability to pass our document review. You'll also verify your identity through Stripe with a photo ID and a selfie before you can accept jobs.
Contact Scooda support through the app at any time. We're available to help with access issues, disputes, or anything else that comes up on a job.
🔒 Payments & Safety
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment processors. Scooda never stores your card information directly.
Your card is charged when you confirm your booking. Payment is held securely until delivery is confirmed — if there's an issue, refunds are straightforward.
Scooda does not currently run criminal background checks. Every Scooder does go through a document review — driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle verification — and must pass identity verification through Stripe with a photo ID and a selfie before they can accept any job.
Scooders are required to upload a photo at pickup and another at dropoff. These photos are timestamped and stored — giving you proof that your item was handled properly from start to finish.
Contact Scooda support immediately with photos. Our team reviews the delivery photos and works to resolve the dispute fairly. Scooda has a dispute resolution process to protect both buyers and sellers.
For deliveries: enter your ZIP on our homepage and it will tell you straight away. If we are not there yet, join the waitlist and we will email you the day we open. If you want to DRIVE for Scooda, the answer is different — see the next question.
Yes — apply today. An area goes live as soon as one fully verified Scooder covers it, so if you are the first driver where you live, you open that area and every delivery there comes to you first. Applications are open across the US. You will need a driver's licence, vehicle insurance and a vehicle that can carry furniture. Worth knowing: work only appears once there is demand nearby, so this suits someone who wants to be early somewhere we are heading rather than someone who needs income this week.
